Quick start package is standard installation of Joomla you can easy make a demo site in some steps.

The following is our tutorial for installing Quick Start package on a localhost server using Joomla 1.7.

STEP 1: Download and extract quickstart installation file

Download the quickstart package you want to use from the our download area. To navigate to the download area please loged in first then go to Membership area then select your template that you wanna download.

Next you need to navigate to the folder that you extracted your package to. I will install it on localhost so i will put it in a folder that follow with url: http://localhost/ot-nitrolight/

STEP 2: Create database

On localhost you can easy create a database for it, open your borwser and broswe to your phpmyadmin and create a database. If you install it on your server then you must create database on your database, You can see an example how to create a database with Cpanel:

cPanel is a widely used graphical administration tool for websites that provides a wizard for creating MySQL databases.

To make a database using the cPanel MySQL Database Wizard:

  1. Log in to your cPanel
  2. Click on the MySQL Database Wizard icon.
  3. Create a name for the database
  4. Create a username
  5. Type in a password twice or have the wizard create one
  6. Click the All Privileges checkbox

You will be prompted for the database name, the username, and password when you install. With cPanel, the database and user names must be proceeded by the cPanel username and an underscore. For example:

  • Database: cpanelloginname_databasename
  • Username: cpanelloginname_usernam

OK, now you have database name, database user and password.

STEP 4: Installing

Open your url (my is http://localhost/ot-nitrolight) once the page opens it should look something like the image below. Select the language you want to use with your installation and press next.

The next page is the sample data page and when using the quick start packages its really very important to install the sample data. Fill out the site name, email, admin name and password and then scroll down to the utton that says "Install sample Data" and click it. You should get a success message shortly afterwards which means all of the content from the demo site has been loaded into the database.

Once you have done that you should successfully be able to navigate to the front end of your site and see the template set up exactly the same way as the demo site.
