My top menu is not automatically dropping down to my subs; they don't become visible until someone has clicked on the top menu, which is not what I would like and isn't how the demo functions. There's also something really weird going where some items highlight and others don't.

Hi,
Please make sure you did the setting correctly for dropdown.
In Mainmenu Module parameter, please make sure you chose "Always show sub-menu Items" to "YES".
