Front end modal popup jquery issues

I'm using Spa Salon for a site and they love it, but I'm having an issue with adding K2 articles from the front end.

I have a menu link to add item but when you click it, it open a new window rather than a modal popup.

In the new window there are two JS errors,
The first because there is no menu in the popup window and the second because it IS a popup window and has nothing with the class or id sbox-overlay.


Has anyone else run into this issue and been able to resolve it? Does anyone happen to have any ideas because I'm all out. Tried jquery easy but it has no effect on this issue.
